Artist in the Schools - The Artist in the Schools program accompanies students along the school year reinforcing the creative process and developing hands on experience and interaction for Discipline Based Art Education teachers
The Northwest Florida Institute for Art Education, DBAE - The Institute is a partnership program of the Arts Council of Northwest Florida, the University of West Florida and area school districts. The Institute promotes the implementation of Discipline Based Art Education in schools. The program provides area educators with the training, foundations, and materials needed for a holistic approach to teaching art in all disciplines. DBAE addresses all local, state (Florida Sunshine Standards), and national education goals.
Grants for Teachers - Arts Education Grants for schools in Escambia are awarded yearly. For more information on local arts education and cultural grants, call the Arts Council of Northwest Florida at 850-432-9906.
Workshops - The Arts Council of Northwest Florida hosts workshops for artists and the public that address "the business-side of the business." Topics in the past include "How to Get the Grant You Want," "E-Commerce for Arts Groups," and "Artists in Business." Workshops are given by professionals in the field to be discussed. All workshops are open to the public. Registration fee is $15 for Arts Council members (individual or representatives of organizational members), $25 for non- members.
