The Arts Council of Northwest Florida and the United Arts Fund
The Arts Council of Northwest Florida, founded in 1969, is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that supports and promotes the arts throughout Northwest Florida. We serve like a "united way/chamber of commerce" for the arts and cultural community. Contributions to our United Arts Fund from individuals, families, and corporations help us accomplish our mission.
These contributions to the United Arts Fund enable the Arts Council of Northwest Florida to expose arts and culture to the people of Northwest Florida. Our endeavors to enhance arts and culture in the region include providing grants to arts and cultural organizations that demonstrate artistic and managerial excellence, community involvement and arts advocacy, supporting Arts in Education programs that benefit teachers and students, and developing seminars designed to help the arts community help itself by increasing business skill, informational services and cultural community planning.
The Arts Council of Northwest Florida is dedicated to supporting all of the arts through a combined appeal for funding. Loosely based on the United Way model, the United Arts Fund concept has been successfully used across the nation since 1949. The United Arts Fund approach ensures that one tax-deductible gift will reach all corners of our diverse arts and cultural community.
